The Scottish Intercollegiate GuidelinesNetwork (SIGN) writes guidelines which give advice to doctors,nurses, surgeons, physiotherapists, dentists, occupationaltherapists and patients about the best treatments that areavailable. We write these guidelines by working with doctors,nurses and other NHS staff and with patients, carers and members ofthe public. This app is based on a national guideline on children and youngpeople with ASD clinical guideline issued to all NHS staff. TheScottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN), developed thisguideline in 2007.It is based on the most up-to-date publishedevidence. The app contains two sections, one for parents and carers ofchildren and young people who: • may have autism spectrum disorder (ASD);• or have already been diagnosed with ASD. There is also a section of the app especially for young peoplewhich explains: • what ASD is;• how it is diagnosed; and• what can help. The app also contains details of support organisations and otherplaces where you can get more information, together with anexplanation the terms we use in the app.
